Every time you read the terms “us” or “we” or “our” we are referring to Starmind International AG or Starmind Inc (“Starmind”). When we talk about the “Services” in this policy, we are referring to our online Q&A platform. This platform is currently available for use via web browser or special integrations by your company.
Content and user information submitted to us by you, or your company, is further explained below. All content or user information is controlled by the organization that rolled out Starmind. We collect or process content and user information on behalf of our customer.
Our Privacy Principles
Anonymity of a question poser
We want to empower anybody to ask questions regardless of his role or position. That is why a question poser will always stay anonymous to other users of the network. Nobody will know who asked a question within Starmind. Only in cases of fraud or endangerment we are obliged to disclose the question poser to the administrators.
Perform positive analytics
We allow a limited and trained group of people to access the raw data that we have gathered over time. We only use it for positive purposes including finding special talents within the company, offering incentives , thanking people who helped others and finding the best expert on a certain topic at a certain time. We allow more detailed insights on positive facts of users. We avoid any negative analytics.
Information we collect or receive and how we use them
Account and profile information
The only information we require to setup your Starmind account is your email address, firstname and lastname. Optional information may include your preferred language, your position within the company, location and country in which you work and your gender. Mostly this information is provided to us by your employer and your Starmind administrators. We are not in control of this information. Your full name, email, position, location or country in which you work are visible to all users of of your Starmind network.
Content that you create within Starmind
“Content” you create on Starmind can be questions, solutions or comments. They can include pictures, videos and other types of files and others.
Starmind usage information
While you are active on Starmind we collect additional information that helps our software to predict what you are interested in and for which topics you are an expert. We collect this information from questions you ask, solutions you provide, solution ratings, searches you perform and many more .. We constantly look for new ways to improve our algorithms and to enhance your experience with Starmind.
We may collect information about the device on which you are using our services, including what type of device it is, what operating system you are using, device settings and unique device identifiers. Whether we collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you are using and its settings.
When you use Starmind, our servers automatically record information, including information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. This log data may include your Internet Protocol address, the address of the web page directing you to Starmind, your browser type and settings, the date and time of your request, information about your browser configuration and plug-ins, language preferences, and cookie data. Log data does not contain sensitive information like question or answers. Log data is not routinely deleted.
Email from Starmind
From time to time we will send you emails about new activities related to content that you created, topics that you follow and weekly digests of the network activities. You can always opt-out of these emails.
We won’t email you to ask you for a password or any account information. If you ever receive such an email, don’t hesitate and contact us or the Starmind administrator in your company. This will help us to investigate and protect your fellow colleagues.
Some third-party services that we use, such as Piwik (Data analytic tool) may place their own cookies in your browser.
Starmind has technical, organizational and physical safeguards in place to help protect against unauthorized access to use or disclose user information we maintain.
Under our security practices and policies, access to personally identifiable information is authorized only for those who have a business need for such access, and sensitive records are to be retained only as long as necessary for business or legal needs and destroyed before disposal.
We work hard to protect personal information that we collect and store. If you become aware of any unauthorized attempt to access, use or disclose personal information, please email us immediately. We will work relentlessly to address any problems.
We may change this policy from time to time, and if we do we will post any changes on this page. If you continue to use the Services after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy.
