PioneerEfficient Innovation and Idea Management approach looked for (middle-sized company)

Innovation and know-how management is one of the key success factors in our company.
All our employees are equipped with state of the art IT and communication tools. Our client segment encompasses middle to large companies we consult in the financial sector.

So far we have used classic storage/filing tools provided via Intranet (including forum software, WIKI).

* Can you think of better ways on how employees may share their know-how?

* What could be incentives that employees actually share their expertise in such tools?

I do not think that it is an issue of tools.

I would be carefull with too much money incentives. Volunteering for money sounds like a contradiction for me. Have a look at:
RSA Animate - Drive: The surprising truth about what motivates us:

    Specially relevant for inovation.

I think the main reason behind "wanting to share know-how" or not, is related to "In the present way of doing things (paradigma), is it an advantage for me to share know-how, or do I better stay on my know-how (not sharing)?"

Well why dont you start a system where every employee gets points for sharing know how or teaching a skill to a number of fellow employees or juniors and in the end these points would be considered at the time of the appraisal.

Money can be an important motivating factor, and once people start volunteering this can become a culture of your organization.

This isn't an issue of tools but of personal interaction and it needs to be tackled in a combination of ways such as rotating staff, team building forums, IT as well as physical 'Ideas Boards' etc.
    My company can help.

Create a Tips sheet that you may publish weekly/forthnightly .
All the people would vote teh Top 3 and the top three of teh month will have a Bonus . The First place a Bonus of 500Euro, the second and third A Free voucher dinner with family (you may limit to 200 Euro max)
They will work for the prize but you will be sure that they read others ideas.
