EUR 3.-Who can solve the following integral?

 

find the value of the following integral:-

(1+tanx)^-1/2 dx?

    are you sure the integral in question is an indefinite integral?

    for this kind of question, go to www.wolframalpha.com, and type it in the bar with an = on the side
    almost any syntax will work, I typed
    int (1+tan(x))^(-1/2)dx.
    The integral is not known in closed form by mathematica, which usually means noone knows it. Alpha gives a picture of it for a given normalization.
    Note that without integration constants the solution will be complex because the tangent becomes less than 1 in some regions.
